Betis second kit 2026/27 unveiled as "Verde Esperanza" with anti-bullying campaign

Real Betis and Hummel unveil the 2026/27 Betis second kit, "Verde Esperanza," linking the green-themed jersey to a foundation-led anti-bullying campaign. The Betis second kit is central to a season-long initiative by the club and Fundación Real Betis Balompié with the Asociación Española para la Prevención del Acoso Escolar (AEPAE).

Betis and Hummel unveil 2026/27 second kit

The club and kit supplier Hummel presented the Betis second kit for 2026/27, a jersey that restores green in layered tones and leans on local symbolism. The release positions the shirt as both a sporting garment and a civic statement tied to Sevilla’s identity.

The presentation included a video and images that emphasize the shirt’s connection to community work rather than purely commercial messaging. Club statements describe the design as an "allegory of Hope," and the kit will be used in promotional and outreach activities across the season.

"Verde Esperanza" inscription links kit to anti-bullying drive

Inside the collar of the new shirt reads the phrase "Verde Esperanza," a direct reference to the campaign the club is launching against school bullying. The inscription is positioned as a discreet, wearable message that aligns the Betis second kit with the social objectives of the Fundación Real Betis Balompié.

The club says the collar message will be a recurring element in communications and events aimed at raising awareness among families, educators and young people. Officials frame the use of the kit as a tool to give visibility to prevention efforts and to reinforce the idea that sporting institutions can support mental-health and anti-bullying work.

Foundation and AEPAE outline workshops, conference and summer camp

The Fundación Real Betis Balompié and AEPAE will run a series of activities tied to the Betis second kit launch, including four prevention and awareness workshops. Those sessions are aimed at youth players across the male and female academy, the foundation’s football school and the Monsalvete school in the Tres Mil Viviendas neighbourhood, a locality with strong social outreach needs.

AEPAE will also organize a Jornada de Prevención del Acoso Escolar in Seville, during which it will present a report on the state of bullying in Spain. The association intends the conference to connect historical cases with contemporary policy proposals spanning education, social intervention, therapy, legal frameworks and digital safeguarding.

At the close of the 2026/27 season AEPAE plans to run a therapeutic summer camp for victims of school bullying, described as an intensive week of recovery and psychological support. The initiative will deploy a team of AEPAE specialists and aims to restore confidence and resilience among participating minors.

Launch film features tribute to Sandra Peña

The launch video accompanying the Betis second kit is centered on a tribute to Sandra Peña, a young Real Betis supporter whose death in October 2025 followed reported episodes of school bullying. The film is presented by Sandra’s family and shows personal items and memorabilia while the new jersey — bearing her name on the back in the footage — is revealed.

Club and foundation materials describe the sequence as an emotional homage intended to put a human face on the consequences of sustained harassment. Organizers say the choice to include Sandra’s story is meant to spur public debate and encourage concrete action to prevent similar tragedies.

Design draws on Sevillian embroidery and religious iconography

The shirt’s visual language draws explicitly on two storied Sevillian embroidered mantles associated with the city’s devotional brotherhoods: the mesh mantle of Esperanza Macarena, known colloquially as the "Camaronero," and the mantle of Esperanza de Triana. Betis has credited those works, and the workshops behind them, as direct inspirations for embroidery motifs and tonal layering on the fabric.

Iconographic elements incorporated into the kit include a royal crown linked to the club’s historic imagery since 1914, an anchor motif symbolizing hope, and the small ornamental "mariquillas" associated with the Macarena. The club says these references were chosen to tie the jersey visually to Sevilla’s cultural and artisanal traditions rather than to overt religious messaging.

TechPro fabric and planned rollout for community use

From a technical standpoint the Betis second kit features "TechPro" textile technology, described by the manufacturer as a balance of lightness, durability, breathability and thermal comfort. The technical properties are presented as suited to both matchwear and intensive training use, with particular attention to adaptability for younger athletes in academy programmes.

Real Betis and Hummel plan a phased commercial rollout that will coincide with the foundation’s activities, including special editions for academy teams and limited runs that highlight the anti-bullying campaign. Club sources indicate proceeds from selected sales may support the foundation’s preventive programmes, though precise financial arrangements were not disclosed at the launch.

Community reception and club positioning ahead of the season

Initial reaction among local supporters and community groups has been mixed between praise for the social commitment and scrutiny over the inclusion of a recent personal tragedy in promotional material. Some local organisations welcomed the visibility the Betis second kit gives to the subject of bullying, while others urged careful, long-term follow-through beyond symbolic gestures.

Real Betis has framed the initiative as more than a marketing exercise, emphasizing a season-long plan of activities backed by the foundation and AEPAE. The club says it will measure outreach through the workshops, conference participation and the therapeutic summer camp, and it expects sustained collaboration with local schools and social services.

The Betis second kit positions the club at the intersection of sport, tradition and social responsibility, using design and messaging to broaden the conversation about youth welfare. The campaign’s effectiveness will depend on the depth of implementation and the ability of the foundation and its partners to translate awareness into concrete prevention and support mechanisms.

The shirt’s presentation marks the beginning of a year in which Real Betis aims to combine on-field objectives with off-field community work, linking a traditional green palette to a modern, civic campaign against school bullying.
