Bayern Munich are on the verge of completing the capture of Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven, sources say, with the attacker expected to sign a contract running until 2031. The move, reported after several days of intensive negotiation, would mark Bayern’s first major incoming transfer of the 2026/27 window and adds a high-profile option to their forward line.

Bayern and PSV reach total agreement

Bayern Munich and PSV have reportedly reached a comprehensive agreement over the transfer of Ismael Saibari after protracted talks between the clubs. Negotiators settled the key elements of a deal that had been the subject of a valuation standoff, allowing both sides to sign off on terms that move the transfer toward completion.

The agreement is understood to cover personal terms and the structure of the transfer, though final formalities remain. Club officials have outlined a plan that will see Saibari travel for a medical exam before the deal is officially announced.

Contract length and medical arrangements

Ismael Saibari is expected to commit to a long-term contract that runs through 2031, reflecting Bayern’s intent to secure him as part of their medium-term attacking plans. The contract length underlines Bayern’s willingness to invest in talent they view as integral to the next phase of the team’s evolution.

A medical is scheduled to take place in the United States, where Bayern are currently undertaking preseason activities. The location of the medical aligns with the club’s preparations and should allow the transfer to be finalized while the squad is on its tour.

Fee negotiations and reported figures

Negotiations over the transfer fee were closely contested, with Bayern initially proposing an offer reported to be in the region of €45 million plus €5 million in add-ons. PSV held out for a higher base fee, reportedly seeking around €50 million for their valued attacker, which led to a period of intense bargaining.

Reports suggest the final agreement represents a compromise that satisfies PSV’s valuation and Bayern’s budgetary parameters. While exact financial details have not been released publicly, the structure of the deal appears to blend guaranteed payments with performance-related incentives.

Competition from Paris Saint-Germain and other suitors

Bayern had to navigate interest from other elite clubs, with Paris Saint-Germain noted as a prior inquirer earlier in the year. PSG’s approach increased the urgency for Bayern to secure terms, particularly given the player’s profile following the World Cup and his breakthrough campaign in the Eredivisie.

PSV’s stance in negotiations reflected the broader market demand for Saibari, and the club’s reluctance to accept a cut-price transfer underlined their leverage. Bayern’s ability to outmaneuver rivals and reach a resolution will be viewed as a significant success by their transfer team.

Saibari’s recent form and international impact

Saibari arrives at the center of attention after a strong 2025/26 season in the Netherlands, during which he scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in 27 Eredivisie appearances. His goal involvement rate and consistency made him one of PSV’s most productive attacking players and an obvious target for clubs seeking dynamic wide forwards.

The 25-year-old also increased his international reputation by scoring the opener for Morocco against Brazil at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a high-profile moment that highlighted his ability to perform on major stages. That performance, combined with his domestic numbers, amplified his market value and drew more scouting focus ahead of the transfer window.

Tactical fit within Bayern’s forward line

Bayern will integrate Saibari into an attack that has undergone recent adjustments, including last summer’s acquisition of Luis Díaz and shifting roles for existing forwards. Saibari’s versatility — able to play on either flank or in a more advanced wide role — gives Bayern additional tactical flexibility as they manage injuries and form.

With Serge Gnabry currently sidelined by injury and younger options such as Lennart Karl still developing, Saibari provides both depth and an immediate attacking threat. His pace, directness and link-up play suit the Bundesliga champions’ preference for dynamic wide play and rapid transitions from defense to attack.

Implications for Bayern’s transfer strategy

Securing Ismael Saibari would underscore Bayern’s continued willingness to spend on prime attacking talent even after recent high-cost signings. The club’s approach balances acquiring experienced internationals with investing in players entering their peak years, aiming to maintain competitiveness in domestic and European competitions.

This transfer, if completed, also signals Bayern’s focus on long-term planning rather than short-term fixes, with the length of the contract suggesting a multi-season role. It will test Bayern’s ability to integrate new arrivals quickly while preserving a clear hierarchy in the squad.

The move is expected to be finalized once Saibari completes and passes his medical in the United States, a step that would trigger the formal announcement and permit the player to begin training with his new teammates.
