Sevilla transfer news: Oso move stalls as club holds out while Akor Adams sale nears €15m

Sevilla transfer news: Oso’s proposed exit has been paused after the club rejected an €8m offer, insisting on €10m plus variables, while a sale of Akor Adams to Venezia edges closer to €15m. The developments leave Sevilla balancing squad depth and immediate financial needs ahead of the transfer window’s next phases.

Oso transfer talks reach an impasse

Sevilla and the Marinakis group, which controls Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos, have failed to bridge differences over the valuation of left-back Oso. The Andalusian club set a minimum of €10 million plus performance-related variables for the academy graduate, while the Greek-linked bid stalled at €8 million.

The gap leaves the player’s potential transfer in limbo despite Oso’s release clause standing at €20 million. Sevilla is determined to monetize the left-back only on terms that align with its summer financial planning, making patience a tactical choice for the sporting department.

Poland incident heightens urgency around Oso’s future

Oso traveled with Sevilla for a friendly in Poland and featured in the second half against KS Cracovia, where he was later sent off after an altercation with a match official. The dismissal, which stemmed from the player throwing the ball at an assistant, has added a disciplinary and public-relations element to the transfer calculus.

That episode increases the risk that Sevilla may lose leverage if renewal talks do not conclude satisfactorily. The club must weigh the optics of retaining a player who could leave on a free transfer in six months against the financial benefit of a summer sale.

Contract status raises the possibility of a free departure

The left-back’s current contract situation is a central factor in negotiations, with renewal discussions described as ongoing but inconclusive. Should talks fail to produce an extension, Oso would be free to negotiate as a free agent once within six months of contract expiry, significantly reducing Sevilla’s bargaining position.

Sporting leaders are therefore balancing two priorities: securing a sale that meets the club’s valuation, or finalizing a new contract to preserve the asset’s market value. The outcome will determine whether Sevilla can extract a transfer fee this summer or risk a no-fee departure during the next window.

Julio Díaz move unaffected and left-back depth under review

Sevilla’s stance on Oso has not scuppered plans to recruit Julio Díaz from Atlético de Madrid, a transfer that would add further competition at left-back. Luis García Plaza would, with Díaz’s arrival, have as many as four options in that role, giving the coach tactical flexibility but also prompting potential squad adjustments.

The club continues to explore the market for additional options while also considering departures, including the possible exit of Pedrosa. Meanwhile, Chilean left-back Suazo remains a consistent selection and is viewed as a stable presence in the squad.

Akor Adams sale to Venezia close to completion

Separately, Sevilla has advanced negotiations to sell striker Akor Adams to Venezia, with agreement reportedly nearing the €15 million mark plus variables. The deal, pending final formalities and mutual confirmations, would represent a substantial return for a player the club acquired from Montpellier in January 2025.

If completed on the reported terms, Sevilla would record a capital gain of roughly €10 million over the club’s initial €5.5 million outlay for Adams. The transaction would provide immediate budgetary relief and support further activity in the transfer market.

Sporting director faces challenge to replace a key striker economically

With Akor Adams poised to depart as the Andalusian side’s leading goalscorer from last season, sporting director José Ignacio Navarro must source a reliable number nine on a limited budget. The brief is clear: identify a forward capable of leading the line without a heavy financial outlay.

Navarro’s recruitment strategy will likely emphasize scouting undervalued markets, loan options, and performance-related deals to mitigate risk. The club faces a delicate balancing act between maintaining competitive quality and restoring financial flexibility after a busy period of investment.

Sevilla’s summer window will be defined by these twin priorities: securing adequate returns for outgoing assets and selectively reinvesting to preserve squad competitiveness. The ongoing standoff over Oso’s valuation and the near-confirmation of Akor Adams’ transfer to Venezia encapsulate the club’s current approach of cautious negotiation and pragmatic roster planning.

The next weeks will be decisive as offers, renewals and medicals either crystallize or collapse, shaping Sevilla’s squad for the coming campaign.
